| Now I've got 2 metal screws in my middle finger, basically holding it in place. The surgery went pretty smoothly...although they did give me some narcotic meds to go home with for the pain. I took one at work and it made me psychotic/delirous, I don't recommend taking percocet at work. The screws are made out of adamantium, jk, it's actually titanium. Now I've got a splint on my middle finger and I'm constantly flipping people off, not on purpose of course. Well, sometimes... Anyways, the screws are permanent, and I'm not sure if they'll set off metal detectors, we'll see when we go to London and CA next week!
 Before After

| so i figure i haven't written on this thing in a while, here is my 7 month update...it's actually a football update. as you can see, the scar that was inflicted upon me by that dog last time is healing (see last entry), but it is still present. i tried to strike the same pose to provide the best comparison. and i haven't gotten rabies, so that's good news. Before (7months ago) After (Now) HOWEVER, football incidents aren't limited to dog chasing butt attacks. This past Sunday I was playing flag football again, and after a spectacular tackle (not really, I just tried grabbing a flag), I looked at my finger, and it was bent about 60 degrees sideways. I snapped it back into place, but it was still crooked. So, I went to the ER and got this Xray...my middle finger was broken! My 3rd middle phalanx to be exact, was fractured...see picture below, the picture isn't great, but you can see the curved line in the middle of the bone. I saw an orthopedist today and he said I might need screws or pins to hold it in place....we'll see.
Fractured middle finger, go figure..
| since my brother blogs so much, i figure maybe i'll put in an entry. i actually put an entry 4 years ago but i never told anyone. since then, a lot of things have happened....i've moved to DC, finished med school, got married, stuff like that. but the biggest craziest thing happened to me last weekend. i was playing flag football with some friends in Maryland...on a 4th down, i was wide receiver and ran a beautiful route, caught the ball and ran up the sideline for what i thought would be a touch down. but, there happened to be a dog on the field...when he saw me catch the ball, he bolted toward me, chased me and and bit me in my butt and tackled me. i was scared at first, but then i saw everyone laughing at me. the dog was a collie (like Lassie), but he (or she, i'm not sure) had big teeth! below is a picture to prove it. it's starting to scab over now..

| this is my very first entry into one of these kinds of things...and i tried to add a picture, but i couldn't figure out how to do it, how do you do it?
anyways, i realized today how much i love drug reps! those people who come into the doctor's office to tell you about their product, and share food with you...i haven't had to buy lunch yet. it's great...of course you don't want to use their products just because they give you food or cool gadgets, but the food is just a great medium over which to talk about the products that can potentially save lives. now i'm gonna get real fat..
